There Is Nothing As Resilient As The Human Spirit

Disappointments, betrayals, struggles, grief... No one goes through life without experiencing one, some or all of these things. And sometimes we even get smacked with a multitude of pain at the same time. It's no wonder that our heart keeps beating despite it all and doesn't end up frozen the way it has in this image. Or maybe it does occasionally...

Have you ever been disappointed so badly or been betrayed so profoundly that you felt like your heart had been ripped apart and submerged into ice cold water? And that you would never be able to put the shattered pieces together again? It's hard not to become jaded, withdrawn and defensive after every blow experienced. It's hard not to shut down and turn cold after your heart has been stomped on? You wonder if it will ever thaw and if you will ever trust again? But it does and you will.

That's the beauty of our spirit. It is strong. It survives and prevails. Inside each one of us there is a light burning bright that can never be extinguished no matter how dark it gets. There is nothing as resilient as the human spirit. We cannot go through life without obstacles - that's part of living fully - but we will overcome and we will mend. Because the heart knows how to heal itself. The only thing we need to do is to convince our mind. That's where the real challenge is. 🔮

  1. The Winter Waite Tarot must be a deck specifically for Canadians, eh? The Three of Swords is a "chilling" image at the best of times, but this takes it to a whole new level, LOL!
